Everyone should know the basics. Example, using some form of Ooc. No GM or PP. No one liners and try to user proper grammar and punctuation. No I c u 2.
1. Literacy. I expect at least a three paragraph introduction (no lists or Links.) and about a paragraph for each reply. however, I'll only attempt to give you what you give me. Roleplaying to me is like writing a novel with one or more individual: A work of art. I consider myself quite advanced and Literate so if this scares you than don't read any further.
2. Doubling. Even if you're only a halfway decent roleplayer than you shouldn't have a problem with doubling or roleplaying either gender. In a one on one, I'm only a main character but I'll double side characters just to help the plot along. I prefer when on a roleplaying forum or board that everyone doubles. That way there's plenty of characters for everyone to interact with. Plus this keeps things interesting and keeps the board active and fun. (You can type up your other character's reply while waiting for someone to reply to your first one.) Obviously my preferred character gender is male but I can rp small female scenes and extras.
3. This is an EXTENDED rp. Meaning over the course of weeks even months. Don’t ask unless you can devote your time and quality work. Everyone has a life off of the computer so I’ll understand if you don’t feel like roleplaying that particular day and you should understand if I not up for it when I’m on my ‘off’ days too.
4. Limitations: These are usually what breaks or makes a good roleplaying partner.
romance: I'll go pretty far, but straight up *banging* sex scenes I won't do. No incest or on animal.
violence: Everyone loves a little blood and sword swinging/combat once in a while. I will stop roleplaying with you if your character randomly stabs or flips on my character for no reason. If your are as good then it should be easy to read where I'm taking the rp and visa versa for you.
language: as long as it's not every other word. I can see a 'damn or hell' if your character is angry. Even I do this sometimes.
5. Maturity. Everyone has their childish moment and gutter days: I should know, I’m nineteen and if this makes you uncomfortable I’m sorry but I‘ll never get any younger. I also don’t really want to roleplay with someone under the age of sixteen. Please try to have a little side conversation once in a while. Knowing a little about one another makes it easier to understand what we’d like in a roleplay.
6. Redirections. I prefer to roleplay over IM. I only have and use Yahoo. If you don’t know then I’ll tell you: Hotmail, Live, and Aol member can IM Yahoo users. I will one on one over neomail if needed but TNT restricts my abilities. You can’t even type the word ‘hot’. “It’s hot out.” Without someone reporting you. I also rp on the Gaia forums but I've not been on Gaia for quite some time. Again Yahoo is my number one choice and I check it daily.
